as bad as some cars are, one of my ex's had a 05 santa fe, that, i shit you not, had a hole rusted STRAIGHT through one of the control arms.

I refused to be driven anywhere in that car. ever

They're slow, they get terrible gas mileage, they fold in half in an accident...

Yeah, they're work horses that can haul a ton of shit without missing a beat, but so does a Tahoe and it's better in every way.

We had a Hyundai XG350 whose front control arm had what appeared to surface rust, but the thing was actually structurally compromised.

The front control arm ripped off while driving around in a parking lot and wasn't covered under warranty because we were in a southern state.

We wound up totalling and scrapping a car that still had warranty left.

Hyundai. Never again.
